About this pen and ink drawing:
I became interested in doing a series after a friend of mine visited several California missions and came back with incredible photographs. In this drawing featuring the mission of San Miguel Arcángel, I was drawn in by the exposed brickwork and the statue of Junipero Serra framed in the archway from her original picture. I have tried to recreate the timelessness of this scene.
