About this painting:
I had just purchased some Sennelier watercolor paints and was excited to try them out. Sennelier watercolors are honey-based, and are patterned after those used by French Impressionist painters. The honey reinforces the longevity of the colors, their radiance and luminosity. I decided a single flower, an iris, would be a good choice for a test model. The yellow and purple came through very pure and radiant, and the light shines through in a lovely way.
